Purpose

Wheelock Communities is considering the Bardmoor North golf course property located in the heart of western Pinellas County as a potential redevelopment initiative and is meeting with Pinellas County planning and public works staff to better understand the County’s entitlement, infrastructure, and permitting requirements.

The golf course will continue operating under its current ownership during this exploratory phase. As the planning process moves forward, the team will be engaging the local community for feedback.

opportunity

Abutting existing office space and a rail line, alterations to the property will be planned with the goal of presenting minimal disruption to existing neighbors while still providing future residents the connections to water, nature and recreation that Pinellas County is known for.

Pinellas County residents often have to choose between living near the beaches and living near work. This property would provide the best of both – it’s ideally situated in the heart of Pinellas County with easy access to the beaches, Lake Seminole, Walsingham Park, Pinellas County’s largest employment center, and the downtowns of St. Petersburg and Clearwater.

Location

The property is located in unincorporated Pinellas County on the southwest corner of the intersection of Bryan Dairy and South Belcher roads. The Gulf of Mexico lies 6 1/2 miles to the west and access to I-275 and the Howard Frankland Bridge lie 5 1/2 miles east.

Experience

Backed by the financial strength of Wheelock Street Capital, Wheelock Communities traces its roots to 2010 when it purchased eight communities across Texas in partnership with one of the state’s largest builders. Since then, its portfolio has included an additional eleven communities in North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Colorado and California. Wheelock Communities strives to add value to all types of residential, recreational and mixed-use properties through a network of local partners that have a deep understanding of and commitment to the markets in which they work.
